Landscape Rethought

Sifting through  Allen G. Thomas, Jr’s  vast photography collection, Dennis Weller and I used the occasion to not only celebrate Thomas’ activities but place into context two distinct directions that fascinated the collector: 1) place or environment (where he wanted to be) and 2) his attraction to the fleeting moment. The exhibition, Rethinking Landscape consisted of 24  large-scale images (including a room-size, engulfing lenticular Forest by Sarah Anne Johnson, where you had the op to experience a breeze at night as it drifted through the Canadian woods), along with works by Taj Forer, Andreas Gefeller (Tree Nursery, below), Anthony Goicolea, Bill Henson, Sarah Anne Johnson, Chris Jordan (Cell Phones shown, below), Sze Tsung Leong, Jeff Chien-Hsing Liao, Sally Mann, Andrew Moore, Zwelethu Mthethwa, Martina Mullaney, Robert and Shana ParkeHarrison, Sarah Pickering, Kerry Skarbakka (Trestle shown), and Burk Uzzle.
